Introduction
Redmi Note 10 Pro is a phone released by Xiaomi on March 21, 2021.
It is featured with a high processing capability and high memory and storage all-in for a retail price of Php 13,590.00, a lot cheaper than its competitors with the same specs.
Aside from it's high specs performance, it is also equipped with a great camera having 108 MP rear and 16 MP front camera.
It also includes a good battery capacity of 5020 mAh which surely people who are into travelling will love.
Usability
With the high specs it is equipped with, let us see its capability on different phone uses.
Photography
- High resolution rear main camera
- Ultra Wide angle camera
- HDR quality rear camera
- 4K@30pfs rear camera video
- Decent enough processing capability
- Low price
- No camera stability feature. This could lead small shaking to blurry images.
- No telephoto for zooming
The Redmi Note 10 Pro has a rear main camera with a wide camera sensor measuring 1/1.52". This is able to fit a 108MP image with 0.7µm (micrometer) size per pixel.
This rear camera is almost comparable to Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (Premium phone that costs 60k+) which uses a slightly wider 1/1.33" camera sensor that fits 108 MP images with 0.8µm size per pixel.
Just the main camera alone, Redmi Note 10 Pro can already produce high end photographs with a mid-range phone cost.
Sadly, the main camera does not have stability features so make sure that you don't have shaky hands or use a tripod when taking shots to prevent blurriness.
It is also equipped with an ultrawide camera that can cover 118 degree wide angles that allows the camera to cover wider shots.
Unfortunately, unlike high end premium phones, this device does not have any Telephoto at all which is responsible for allowing a camera to zoom subjects in a farther distance.
Since it is a mid-range phone, it is also equipped with a macro camera and depth sensor.
All in all, the phone has four rear cameras. It also features a LED flash, HDR quality photographs, and is capable of making panorama shots.
The device's rear camera can also produce 4K resolution videos at 30 fps (frames per second).
As for its selfie camera, it has a 1/3.06” wide camera sensor that can fit a 16MP resolution image with a 1.0µm per pixel as its size. The above size is decent enough for a selfie camera which is mostly used on a near subject photograph.
It also features panorama shots and can produce 1080p or 720p video resolution at 30 fps.
As for the image processing, it uses Snapdragon 732G which is quick enough and has a decent enough ISP to produce a good final image.
Gaming
- Capable of running high end games
- Wide gaming screen
- Long enough battery life
- Cheap gaming phone price
- Not applicable for professional gaming
The Redmi Note 10 Pro is equipped with 8GB memory and 128GB storage. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G sso with a Octa core CPU and Adreno 618 GPU.
With the above specs, it makes the phone capable of running high end games such as Genshin Impact, Ragnarok X: Next Gen and battle royale games like Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG.
But unlike high end phones, its processor is not capable of superb performance and lag or slowness might occur some of the time.
For games with a wide world, loading the elements in the map might be delayed sometimes especially when the player is moving from place to place rather fast which would require the game to load the map quickly as well.
Example of this is genshin impact. Running or gliding rather quickly will make the pickable items load the pick button rather late. Or in Call of Duty Mobile, riding a quick vehicle might show a map with missing elements around.
Still, the games are still playable on the device and adjusting the display resolution might do the trick.
For games with low requirements, such as Mobile Legends, the device's smooth performance is to be expected.
The device is also equipped with a 5020 mAh battery so game time will be longer as well. It also has fast charging capability so getting bored will be shorter.
As for the screen, it has a wide 6.67 inches screen size which is sought after by gamers. Having a wider screen view helps to have a better view of the game you will be playing.
Multimedia
- Wide screen
- High display refresh rate
- HDR10 video quality
- Has 35mm jack
- With 24-bit/192kHz audio bit rate
- Uses only basic AMOLED screen so graphic quality and colors might have minimal flaws
Phones usually categorized for multimedia usage are widely used for music and video streaming. So a good screen size and features, and good speaker is a must.
For the Redmi Note 10 Pro, with a 6.67" wide screen size, watching movies, anime or kdrama is great.
It uses an AMOLED screen which is one of the basic LED screens there is available. If compared to SUPER AMOLED or IPS LCD, it is still far from being good enough.
If you don't mind the quality of graphics and colors too much, it is good enough.
It has a high refresh rate of 120Hz (120 refresh per second) which will allow you to watch quick changing scenes movies and anime the best possible.
It's video quality is HDR10 which supports up to 1000 nits peak video brightness. So with the device's 1200 nits peak brightness, watching in a bright environment won't be a problem.
As for audio, a stereo speaker is available and if you want to listen alone, a 35mm jack is available for wired earphones or headset.
It also has a 24-bit/192kHz audio bit rate which is typically a normal rate for the human ear. It can produce good sound quality for those who love listening to music.
Travel
- High storage with External memory card slot and USB OTG available
- Good battery life and Fast charging feature
- Good camera and video resolution
- No barometer
- No camera stability feature
This is the most in-demand use of smartphones nowadays. Mostly everyone uses their smartphone on their life travels, be it summer getaway, mountain hiking, and many more adventures.
With these, app support for travelling is widespread from maps to online navigation.
For phones, devices with a good storage capacity, good network connection, and a long battery life is a must.
As for the Redmi Note 10 Pro, it is equipped with 128GB storage so the phone getting full is out of the problem.
It also has an external memory card slot and a USB OTG feature as back-up.
It uses 4G LTE data network connection which is the best possible since 5G is not fully supported in the Philippines.
Almost every phone has a GPS feature and this also applies for this device. Sadly the phone does not have a barometer installed so GPS cannot take altitude data using it.
The phone is neither light nor heavy weight so carrying it along all the time while climbing on rocks is fine.
It has a battery capacity of 5020 mAh which is decent enough for travels. It also features 33W fast charging, good for intensive use of the device.
As for its camera, it has a high camera resolution but since it does not have a stability feature, taking pictures while on the trip might be a bit disappointing.
The same goes for taking video, even if it can take high quality videos, without stability features, expect a shaky video output.
Lastly, the device has a compass sensor that can help when travelling in a forest or mountain.
Work and Business
- High processor, memory and storage capacity
- Uses 4G LTE network
- Equipped with fingerprint scanner and Face ID for security
- Good front camera specs
- Expensive if provided for employees which will only be needed for communication
Redmi Note 10 Pro for employees in business is a bit luxurious. For work, its specs are great enough.
Processing, memory, storage wise, the device is perfect for work needs.
It has the best supported network in the Philippines. Again it is because 5G is not yet fully supported in the Philippines so having a 4G LTE is still the best and practical choice.
It has features such as fingerprint scanner and Face ID installed that can provide an additional layer of security for the device.
Its camera feature is on the high end if only used for video conferences and any other video call which is usually done with the device in a stable position.
Education
- Great processing capability with high memory and storage capacity
- Wide screen
- Good front camera
- Expensive if dedicated for home learning only
The Redmi Note 10 Pro is expensive if bought only for educational purposes.
Though if preferred to gift it and will be used for other purposes, the device has great specs if used for home learning.
It has a wide screen which is helpful for previewing school materials and attending video calls.
And with a high quality front camera, video quality will never be a problem.
General Use
- High over all specs
- Expensive if dedicated for general use only
Phones for general use are usually bought just for communicating, some social media access and some internet browsing.
All in all, it does not need to have high specs and having so is a bit luxurious.
Redmi Note 10 Pro is a mid-range phone with quite high specs so buying this phone and not maximizing its usage would be a little bit of a waste.
Though if you don’t mind spending a little bit much and like to have a quality device, this device will never be a bad investment especially if you will only have this for general use.
